The UK government is officially recommending the use of two way radios as a communications tool to help with social distancing in the workplace. Using [two-way] radios means that employees do not always need to work closely together in order to communicate.

On 23rd Mar 2020, the UK government announced that movement in the country would be restricted to help combat the coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping the globe. That effectively meant that very few workplaces could continue to stay open. Millions of UK businesses closed down as a result.

UK Government Workplace Advice

On Sunday 10th May 2020, the British government announced that the UK was to start to make plans to get back to work and has released guidance to employers that says:

Reducing movement by discouraging non-essential trips within buildings and sites, for example, restricting access to some areas, encouraging use of [two-way] radios or telephones, where permitted, and cleaning them between use.

Two way radios are ideal for short-range communications between employees and Radiotronics is delighted that the government have endorsed the use of radios in the workplace to reduce the chances of contact.
